A PET FRIENDLY VACATION
For many of us, pets are part of our family. However, since not many places are pet-friendly, when it’s time for your family to go on holiday, you’ll need to figure out what you’ll do with your dogs. If you’re like me, you want your pet to accompany you everywhere you go. Fortunately, here in the Poconos Mountains, our Luxury Lake Naomi properties are pet friendly, so you don’t have to leave them in a dog hotel or with a family member. Instead, we are more than happy to let your dog join you in having a wonderful time.
Why Would Dogs Need A Vacation?
Experts believe that dogs, like humans, need vacations. Wolves are active and travel in groups to find prey, which necessitates their constant movement. Although dogs are not wolves, they do possess some of their ancestors’ instincts. To stop going mad inside the home, these instincts should be satisfied once in a while.
Dogs, like humans, will benefit significantly from a well-planned holiday. The opportunity to get out of the house to do something different will offer much-needed mental and physical relaxation, alleviating some of the boredom and discomfort associated with being cooped up at home.
Benefits from vacation with your dogs
- Have your whole family together:
Bringing your dog along reduces one major factor: you won’t miss them when you’re gone, and they’ll be right there with you! In addition, many of us believe that a vacation will be incomplete without a dog to provide unconditional love and companionship, so why should the family be split up for a vacation?
- Make your children happy:
If you’re traveling with young children, they might be nervous about going to mysterious new places, so bring them along on vacation with you. Likewise, if you’re used to getting pets around when you’re tired or worried, why not bring them along on vacation with you?
- Save money on kennels:
Bringing your dog to the kennels is about as upsetting as worrying about them being isolated on a tropical island. It’s not exactly my definition of a fun holiday. To add, you’ll have to spend a significant sum of money to keep them there. Instead of spending money on the price, it will be less expensive to take your dog on vacation with you and enjoy being together.
- Go on fabulous walks and make new memories with your pup:
Imagine walking your dog twice a day in a different spot or taking a new path to see something you haven’t seen before. Of course, walking your dog down an empty beach and the sun setting on the horizon is one of the most great activities to do with your dog.
How to know if you should take your dog with you
- If the place allows pets
The first thing to consider is whether or not pets are permitted where you choose to go. Nothing is more irritating than traveling many hours to find out pets aren’t allowed for no apparent cause. There are also legitimate reasons why dogs aren’t allowed. For example, dogs are banned in some parks because they were discovered attacking nesting birds. Since pet policy can change, it’s still a safe idea to contact or review a site’s website before visiting to ensure that pets are still welcome.
2. If the place it’s safe, and your dog will enjoy it
Some dogs are calm and at ease around other pups and in crowds, and they are content to accompany their owners at certain places. However, this does not apply to all dogs. So it would help if you made sure the place where you are going will have a safe space for you and your dog. Pet travel involves getting to know your pet and accepting her limits. For example, if moving along would make your dog uncomfortable, fearful, anxious, or bored, she could choose to stay home.
3. Is my pet capable of appropriate behavior?
You won’t have any issues with other people or pets if the dog is well-behaved and obedient. However, most dogs are impulsive by nature and must understand that they cannot do or get anything they want, anytime they want it. If you are a pet lover and love traveling or having getaways close to your home, it’s essential to start training your pets early on.
What Is The Best Place To Take Your Dog On Vacation?
If your dog is a happy traveler who loves car trips, consider taking them on a road trip where they can see and scent various sights and smells while being mentally and physically active. If your dog is up for it, camping is also a fun choice. There are a plethora of dog-friendly holiday opportunities.
